l From Gossip Girl to 30 Rock to Grey’s…we love NUTV! But what about the things you don’t like? Student Life is meeting with NUIT to talk about NUTV improvements and changes for the future—what’s on your mind?

l Mmmm…nothing like dining hall food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner! Student Life is also working on dining hall improvementsplease send me your suggestions/complaints!

l It’s Reading Week. You decided to stay in and study at the library until 3 a.m. What do you do?—SafeWalk! External Relations is launching its pilot program for SafeWalk during Reading Week. Just call the # and someone will get to you in 15 min! More details coming to your inbox later…

l NURD, ASGPAL, CTEC Rankings, dorm alumni career firesides, open Blackboards for every course, and so much more! The Academic Committee is launching 11 new projects for this term—be sure to check out the ASG website soon for a list of all projects each committee is working on this year and as always, I want your feedback!!

A Weekly Update From Your Friendly Neighborhood Senator

I may sit in Senate for 2-3 hours each week, but I’ve made this report so that you can be “In The Know” after 2-3 minutes.  Check it out, stay updated, and as always, don’t hesitate to contact me with questions or concerns.

  • ASG finished Spring Funding for all student groups Wednesday night! Questions about the Student Activities Finance Board, or have any suggestions to improve the funding process? Contact the Financial Vice President, Malavika at MalavikaSrinivasan2007@u.northwestern.edu.
  • Shuttles…they come late, come early, or don’t show up?? ASG’s Student Life Committee met with Brian Peters from University Services, and are arranging for more proposals regarding improving shuttle service. Look out for a shuttle survey on NULink soon, but meanwhile, please give me any creative suggestions/proposals you would like to be brought up!
  • Glued to that BlackBerry or iPhone? (I know I am!!) ASG is working with NUIT Academic Technologies to talk about different mobile technologies for students, such as easy mobile applications for shuttle maps, schedules, and GPS tracking. In addition, we are trying to make iTunesU bigger, to also include online class lectures! Any ideas? E-mail me!
  • Freshman Freeze—I’m sure you remember it! The ASG Alcohol Safety Task Force is proposing to administration for shortening Freshman Freeze in half to new student week plus one week. What do you think? Any other programming ideas to improve alcohol safety on campus?
  • It’s getting closer to summer, and groups are putting on awesome events this weekend! From PhilFest to the Black and Gold Bowl, be sure to check out all the events on NULink today!

  • Sick of waiting for that shuttle in the middle of winter as it rolls up, 10-15 minutes late? Starting this fall, you will be able to use GPS Tracking on Northwestern shuttles! Track it from your Blackberry, your iPhone, online—wherever! And never wait out in the cold again!
  • You asked for it and we brought it! SafeWalk is going to run a pilot program during Reading Week. Feedback or questions? Let me know!
  • RCB and RHA (Residential College and Residential Hall Associations) are collaborating to discuss programming for the fall that incorporates North and South Campus residences together—any ideas? Be sure to tell me!
  • The Student Life Committee is working on mailroom and laundry room improvements. If you have feedback to bring up with ASG, e-mail Matt Bellassai (Student Life Director) MatthewBellassai2012@u.northwestern.edu.
